Human Touch

All of us need to be touched in one way or another. We all crave affection and attention. Did you know that just a gentle touch, a hug or even hand holding can reduce your stress, comfort a broken heart, calm and soothe restless child and even boost someones sense of happiness.
When we were children most of us fell and scraped our knees or bumped our heads, we cried and our parents came running to save the day usually with a kiss and a hug we stopped crying and went right back to playing. The physical pain didn't just disappear but the emotional pain did because we felt relieved once they touched us. As adults some of us were taught not to be so emotional and to suck it up, don't be a wimp, be strong, don't cry and don't rely on anyone to save us. All bad advice is what i say.
Some of us are lucky to be able to go home after a long day and be greeted by a spouse, a child or even a pet that we can embrace and feel some kind of comfort from or connection to. Then there those of us who go home to a empty house or apartment and don't really have family or friends around that we see very often. Those are the ones we need to worry about. If you are one of them or know someone who is, make sure you find a friend or be the friend that can give a hug now and then. You could be saving your life or someone else's life just by that simple act. Don't be afraid, just hug someone.
